Overwatch "Error Applying Update" When Joining A Game
Common Problems
- "ERROR APPLYING UPDATE UNKNOW ERROR (0)"
- "ERROR APPLYING UPDATE UNKNOW ERROR (-1)"
- "ERROR APPLYING UPDATE UNKNOW ERROR (-2)"
- "ERROR APPLYING UPDATE UNKNOW ERROR (-5)"
This issue may present itself when a hotfix has been applied to the game servers but your game client hasn't been patched yet. While we have received reports of this problem and it is being investigated, we also recommend following these steps if you experience any issue:
- Join the practice range to pick up the update.
- Close and Restart Overwatch.
- Confirm the issue is resolved by joining an unranked game.
