Character Migration Didn't Complete

Common Problems

  • My character has been saying that the transfer will take 5 minutes for several hours.
  • Free migration service didn't complete.
  • Error: "You cannot log in until the character boost process you recently initiated is complete."

You may encounter this error if a character that you are attempting to use the free migration service with has any of the following:

  • Mail in their mailbox (read or unread)
  • Posted auctions in any auction house
  • Pets or heirlooms in their inventory
Please check our Character Migration Restrictions article for a list of all the things that can prevent your character from successfully transferring. 

If you can log in to the character, please check each of the issues in the list above. Once you have done this, try to transfer again. 

If you cannot log in and have waited more than 24 hours for the transfer to complete, please contact us.
