In Wrath Classic, once a pet is learned, it cannot be unlearned.
In modern WoW, some pets can be caged after use, and the resulting caged pet can be traded or sold as normal. However, other pets are intended to be permanently bound to your account, and will not have a cage option available. These pets will not be unlearned once used.
